Authorize the task
Define the user, purpose, inputs, permitted data, tools, outputs, prohibited actions, escalation, and accountable human owner.
Control data and providers
Record the model and version, provider or local host, processing location, retention, training use, subprocessors, credentials, network path, and data classes. Sensitive or regulated data requires express written authorization and validated controls.
Evaluate behavior
Test representative, edge, adversarial, permission, stale-data, ambiguous, unsafe, and provider-outage cases. Define thresholds, known limitations, fallback, correction, and approval before launch.
Monitor and stop
Retain appropriate input/output and action evidence, monitor quality and drift, route complaints and incidents, review access, and provide tested disablement or non-AI fallback appropriate to the risk.
