Sales & Order Management
From quote to confirmed order, with the floor already listening.
Quoting, order entry, contract management, and customer service in one connected module - every sales order checked against real capacity, real inventory, and real margin the moment it is promised, so the date you commit is the date you can keep.
The challenge
- !Quotes are built in spreadsheets, so pricing and margin drift and nothing carries into the order
- !Delivery dates are promised by feel, then missed when the floor has no capacity or the part is out of stock
- !Sales, scheduling, and finance keep separate versions of the same order and reconcile by email
- !Contract terms, flow-downs, and revisions live in PDFs no system enforces
- !Customer service has no single view of order status, shipments, returns, and open issues
What it does
- ✓Configure-price-quote workflow with versioned quotes, margin visibility per line, and one-click conversion to a sales order
- ✓Available-to-Promise and Capable-to-Promise dating that checks live inventory and scheduling capacity before a date is committed
- ✓Full order lifecycle: entry, change orders, holds, allocations, partial and back-order handling, and fulfillment status
- ✓Contract and blanket-order management with release scheduling, pricing agreements, and revision control
- ✓Customer master with credit limits, terms, ship-to and bill-to hierarchies, and a 360-degree account view
- ✓RMA and returns handling tied back to quality dispositions and credit notes
- ✓Trunnion AI agents that flag at-risk promise dates, surface margin erosion, and draft order acknowledgements
Inside the module
Every capability, included.
The promise
A date you can defend.
Most order systems take a date and hope. Cortrova promises against reality - inventory, capacity, and lead time - at the moment the customer is on the line.
Available-to-Promise
Checks current on-hand, allocations, and incoming receipts so you never promise stock that is already spoken for.
Capable-to-Promise
Reaches into finite-capacity scheduling to see whether the shop can actually build the order by the requested date, not just whether parts exist.
Margin in view
Every quote and order line shows landed margin as it is built, so discounting is a decision and not an accident.
The lifecycle
One record, quote to cash.
Quote
Versioned, priced, and approved - then converted to an order without re-keying a single line.
Order
Change orders, holds, allocations, and back-orders all tracked on the same record the floor and finance see.
Contract
Blanket orders and pricing agreements drive scheduled releases, with revisions and flow-downs under version control.
Service
Status, shipments, returns, and open cases live on the account, so customer service answers in one screen.
Connected across the platform
One source of truth.
Scheduling
Capable-to-Promise dates read live finite-capacity scheduling, so a delivery date is only committed when the floor can actually build it.
Inventory
Available-to-Promise checks on-hand and incoming stock at order entry, and confirmed orders create demand and allocations against inventory in real time.
Finance
Confirmed orders flow straight to invoicing and revenue, with credit limits, terms, and margin shared from one ledger rather than re-keyed.
Standards & compliance
Built in, not bolted on.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
How does Cortrova promise delivery dates it can actually keep?
Order promising runs Available-to-Promise and Capable-to-Promise checks at entry. ATP confirms the inventory exists and is not already allocated; CTP reaches into finite-capacity scheduling to confirm the shop can build the order by the requested date. The committed date reflects both stock and capacity, so it holds up instead of slipping after the customer has been told.
Does quoting carry through to the order without re-entry?
Yes. Quotes are versioned and priced with live margin, then converted to a sales order in one step - lines, pricing, terms, and customer detail all carry forward. The same record continues through fulfillment to invoicing in Finance, so there is one version of the order from quote to cash.
Can it handle government and aerospace contract requirements?
Contract and blanket-order management supports FAR/DFARS flow-downs, pricing agreements, and revision control, and order handling is ITAR-aware so export-controlled lines follow the right reviews. Pricing is structured to stay compatible with DCAA expectations and AS9100 order-review requirements for regulated customers.
How does Sales & Order Management connect to the rest of the platform?
It shares one data model with Scheduling, Inventory, and Finance. Order promising reads live capacity and stock, confirmed orders create demand and allocations, and revenue and credit flow from the same ledger - so sales, the floor, and finance work from one order, not three copies.
What do the embedded AI agents do in this module?
Trunnion AI agents watch open orders for promise dates that are slipping against current capacity, flag margin erosion as quotes are discounted, and draft order acknowledgements and customer updates. They surface the order that needs attention before the customer notices, rather than after.
